I know why the publication ban: criminal trials and jury selection. The optics of the publication ban made it a target for leaks.

The only thing that anoys me abiut this Gomery thing is all the bullshit the US bloggers are handing out regarding all their “freedoms”. Have they read the Patriot Act lately?
And look at their Grand Juries. Similar to Canadian Preliminary hearings before a Judge to decide if enough evidence exists to proceed to trial. At least in Canada these are not closed hearings but are open to the press and all. Usually the Judge does order a publication ban but this only exists until the actual trial is over. Then the reporters are free to report whatever they want.
And how many Americans have landed in jail for refusing to reveal sources? One hell of a bunch.
And do you think they know why they have all those Bill of Rights amendments? It is because somebody woke up to the fact that the Declaration of Independence deprived them of Magna Carta and all its freedom protections.
Now me, I love Americans. They are great people. But they don’t know Jack Shit about any country except their own and would be wise to sit back and think a bit before becoming the blowhards telling everybody how good they are.
